Hi! I have been practicing for 10 years and specifically in private practice for 3 years. I am fully licensed in Illinois and have worked in a variety of settings including outpatient, schools, and residential. I have received advanced training and am now fully certified in perinatal mental health mood and anxiety disorders. I specialize in working with birthing people and their families during one of the most challenging periods of life. I also love working with all adults, families, and couples to assist them in achieving their goals. I incorporate shelter dogs/cats into sessions in order to decrease anxiety and improve outcomes.
I primarily utilize a Rogerian technique to help you talk through and explore all of the issues that are causing disruption in your life. After we have established the goals and the issues to focus on, I will begin utilizing CBT methods both in and out of session. I love CBT methodology to alter thinking processes that cause distress.
Every person has the ability to make the changes they want to see within themselves when they are given the correct support, unconditional positive regard, and time. I promise to never get caught up in “the way therapy should be” and forget that you are an individual with a whole life influencing your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
