About

Whether recent circumstances are challenging or aspects of the past need to be reconciled & faced, my clients want to process & cope & move toward holistic healing. They want to own their lives & feel better. They want clarity, meaning, understanding, collaboration & support reaching that place through their challenges, traumas, or grief. I meet my clients where they are with respect & empathy to help them move their story forward. I bring 20 years of work in the grief and trauma realms, having worked as a therapist in community mental health & led processing groups & classes internationally & with nonprofits, as well as individuals
These beautiful, unpredictable, messy moments of life shape us, & I've learned that defining who we are through these moments helps us build the life we want. It's hard work. I help navigate & sift through it all. I specialize in grief & chronic illness, though I work with a wide range of people & issues, including anxiety, compassion fatigue & codependency.
I believe we all hold the capacity to grow & move toward a life of health & happiness. Social, cultural, & family systems influence our perspective & how we communicate with ourselves & those around us. Sometimes we need to heal from-or at least learn to carry-past traumas or losses. In other words, context matters. A trauma informed, collaborative approach

Kir Rian's Groups

Lunch Grief Processing Group for Parents/Caregiver

This group is geared for parents and caregivers navigating a death in the immediate family. Grief can stem from a recent death close to us, or be lingering and unresolved from our past. It can be all consuming and isolating and nonlinear. As parents or caregivers, we're also managing the grief of kids and other family members, daily life changes, and secondary traumas. Compounding it, often people near us don't know how to support, and that can make things worse. Counseling and groups can provide support, insights, coping strategies, and space to process. Caps at 8.

At the same time, it can be managed holistically and with a trauma-informed approach. A safe therapeutic healing space conducive to restoration and processing can help with symptom management, and be an effective and transformative form of self-care. This online group meets weekly to practice mindfulness and grounding exercises and group meditation to promote overall wellness. Caps at 8.
