My name is Kionna and I'm a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. I received my Master of Science in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling from McDaniel College. There are many stigmas associated with therapy. I am passionate about breaking the stigma of mental health for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) and LGBTQIA+ populations. The decision to start therapy can be difficult for many. I can assure you that every step of the process will be intentional and purposeful.
I utilize eclectic approaches that are aligned with each client individually to include: Person-Centered, Solution-Focused, and Mindfulness. In our time together we will develop a therapeutic relationship, focus on solutions that are right for you, develop/enhance coping strategies, focus on skill building, communication, and self-esteem.
I love the saying “you can’t pour from an empty cup.” It is my goal to keep you hydrated and nourished while on this journey together. As a queer affirming therapist, I will foster a safe space for clients to evolve, become grounded, and be their authentic true self. I strongly believe in empowering my clients.
