I practice clinical social work, treating clients respectfully, and honoring that they are the expert on their own life. I work from a strengths based and empowerment perspective, emphasizing the client’s capacities, talents, competencies, possibilities, goals, values and hopes. I work with them, empowering them to learn skills and techniques to ultimately help them build their self-confidence, self-worth, and self-efficacy through evidence based practices.
Trauma often it shows up as anxiety, emotional shutdown, chronic stress, pain, sleep problems, or feeling on edge no matter what you try. If your body is always tense, your mind won't slow down, or you feel stuck in survival mode, you're not broken-your nervous system learned to protect you, and we can help it learn a new way.
Many of my clients are people who have "pushed through" for a long time and are ready for real relief-not just coping strategies.
I specialize in evidence-based trauma therapy that helps your body and brain finally feel safe again. I'm trained in multiple evidence-based trauma treatments (EMDR, CPT & PE), and we'll choose what fits you.
