My name is Kimberley Welk and I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist providing telehealth services from Green Bay, WI. I work with adults (primarily women) and couples and specialize in relationship issues and trauma using a combination of Gottman, DBT, and Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples and a combination of CBT, DBT, Polyvagal, and EMDR when working with trauma. My approach to therapy varies based on the client I work with. I feel it is important to get to know my client(s) and then use a combination of techniques to help them meet their goal.
I strive to set a calm, comfortable environment for my clients. I display professionalism with a sense of comfort and safety. I believe that I am an engaging person working hard to build and keep that ever-important nonjudgmental connection with my clients that better ensures their success.
Therapy is all about meeting the client's goals and ensuring that together we create goals that are meaningful and reachable. This starts with building trust and a sense of safety as we get to know one another. Over time we discuss and set the therapeutic goals that the client feels are necessary to resolve their concerns.
