I am a psychotherapist and family life specialist. I'm passionate about facilitating individual growth and the healing of family relationships. With doctoral level training in the fields of Counseling Psychology and Family Studies, I provide individual and family counseling for a variety of mental health issues. In addition, I provide family life education services for parenting, separated/divorced families, elderly care of parents, issues related to adult children returning home, biracial couples, and trans-racial adoptive/foster care families.

I've also worked to assist families and individuals as a policy advocate and college professor. On Capitol Hill, Washington D.C., I have represented the American Psychological Association in Congressional briefings. I am also a family science professor at the University of Maryland, College Park.

I am a participating provider with Aetna, Carefirst BlueCross BlueShield, Magellan, United Healthcare, and Cigna. However if you have another insurance, upon your request, I will complete a statement of paid services for your insurance reimbursement submission. Note that I do accept credit cards to allow clients the flexibility for timely payment.
