I specialize in treating anxiety, depression and trauma. I love to use Sandtray therapy, which engages the brain and stimulates both verbal and nonverbal communication. Sandtray therapy helps us to express what our words cannot by incorporating the physical and emotional interactions in the sand to facilitate an "ah-ha!" moment.
You can't pour from an empty pitcher. I believe that people get the most out of their treatment when they are engaged and have a strong rapport with their therapist. Having an unbiased professional who is there to help you explore and understand your thoughts, feelings and reactions is necessary to regain our sense of self and "refill our pitcher."
