About
I do not limit my practice to serving only those who consider themselves “a person with a disability;” however, I do appreciate that EVERYONE has their own set of strengths and weaknesses. My goal is to help the individuals I work with identify and enhance their strengths so they can more efficiently use them to minimize the effects of weaknesses as barriers to achieving their goals and improved quality of life. To achieve these outcomes, I rely upon evidence-based cognitive and behavioral interventions, including Acceptance & Commitment Therapy that are tailored to each client’s unique history, present concerns, and future plans.
I am board-certified in Rehabilitation Psychology- a speciality that emphasizes maximizing the independence, functional status, health, & social participation of individuals with disabilities and chronic health conditions. I use my experience to connect with individuals who are coping with with complex medical conditions and want a therapist who "gets it."
I want to make rehabilitation psychology truly accessible in the community. It's my goal to be able to provide services to individuals who want them without the wait, hassle, and "othering" that may come from attempts to access similar services offered within a large medical setting. I'm flexible, accommodating, & excited to see if I'm a good fit for you!
