I having been working in the field of clinical social work since stating graduate school in 2002. I have worked in multiple settings including outpatient, intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient hospitalization. I understand that seeking treatment is often difficult and scary but I want to assure you that you do not have to be afraid to face whatever it is you are going through. We all are doing the best we can. We have to make room for compassion, understanding and hope that change is always possible.
During our first session, I will get to know you and the problem you are facing. We will establish ground rules for your safety and protection and out of respect for the clinical relationship that you choose to enter into. We can begin to identify not only the problem but what your goals are for treatment.
My greatest strengths are listening, supporting and encouraging you to be better, to be well. I approach each person with compassion and hope. I use specific therapeutic approaches, such as DBT and CBT, to assist you with making adjustments that allow a different perspective of the problem, leading to empowerment and change.
