Counseling requires a commitment of time, resources, and effort that can be hard to carve out in these busy times. My focus is on using our sessions to help you make the desired changes as efficiently as possible. We are working to get you unstuck and moving in a better direction. With that in mind, I use a goal-focused, strategic counseling model. This process works well if you are truly ready for change but may not know how to get there.
First, I will help you uncover the self-understanding and self-compassion that gives perspective and energy needed for this change process to work. Next, we will identify specific goals that will mark your path and target limiting beliefs that are blocking your change. Envision the life you want. I use a blend of self-compassion training, culturally-grounded Belief Systems Analysis, Energy Psychology, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and traditionally Western psychological approaches to help you transform self-defeating patterns into ones that support your new direction.
