Currently NOT accepting new clients. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Art Therapist, offering individual counseling. My goal is to help clients grow and meet their full potential. I utilize a Person-Centered and Strengths-Based approach, that may be integrated with Art Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Guided Imagery, and Yoga. I recognize the power of the therapeutic relationship and will provide a safe, non-judgemental environment to explore thoughts, ideas and feelings. Counseling sessions will be a collaborative effort to develop effective tools and techniques to handle life challenges.
Art therapy can be utilized with all ages and incorporates visual and symbolic expression. The standards of practice for art therapy include master-level clinicians who abide by ethical standards and scope of practice for the profession as determined by the Art Therapy Credentials Board (ATCB).
I am a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher and knowledgeable about the integration of mind/body techniques to help during the healing process. Yoga or meditation may also be integrated with counseling to engage both the body and mind to decrease anxiety, stress, and depression. In addition, I am a qualified supervisor in the state of Virginia.
