I began my social work career in 2018, specializing in participatory action research aimed to address unstably housed youth in the Richmond and Tri City areas of Virginia guided by my own lived experiences. I now work with a wide array of folx and strive to combine my clinical and policy based experience to disrupt systems of oppression, de-stigmatize mental and behavioral health issues in marginalized communities, address treatment gaps, and provide accessible, affirming care.
I recognize that clients have a medley of identities, experience, and expertise they bring to this work. I offer specialized, trauma informed care that recognizes and uplifts the value and courage it takes to do this work, while also identifying the systemic and individual factors that may impact one's mental health.
Whether or not this is your first time receiving treatment, I recognize that opening up to someone new can be intimidating. I work intentionally to address power imbalances within the therapeutic relationship to foster trust and structure client led sessions in which we were able to address any presenting issues at your own comfort and pace level.
