You made your own meals, applied to school solo, and left home as soon as you could. You survived relentless drama growing up. No longer reliant on the unreliable your life is solid now yet, you are struggling with anxiety and depression. Years ago you found parent surrogates, mostly guys that were no good for you except they gave you attention.
