We may experience situations that leave us doubting ourselves, feeling overwhelmed, or mentally and physically defeated. Along the way, we begin to question ourselves and wonder where we are going. We feel stuck. My focus in counseling is to help you quickly clarify your concerns, identify strengths and abilities that are being underused, and develop tools and resources to maintain your optimal satisfaction. When our work is over, I hope you feel empowered and excited about the changes yet to come in your life.
I am available for individual, couples and group counseling. I am happy to see you for a diverse range of concerns including mood, anxiety, stress, abuse, and identity-related issues. I also provide community and professional workshop presentations on topics including multiculturalism and inclusivity excellence, mental health, and conflict resolution.
I have a PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Georgia and a MS in Mental Health Counseling from Niagara University. I have worked in university counseling centers, family counseling centers, and community agencies. Additionally, I am engaged in research and have several publications focused on ethnic and sexual/gender minority concerns.
