In addition to helping budding therapists develop their skills, I enjoy working with individuals seeking healing from traumatic experiences.I acknowledge therapy can be an overwhelming experience, but believe the right therapeutic relationship can facilitate growth, healing, and freedom from the past. Defining trauma as a “wound,” I believe everyone has experienced trauma in their lives, whether acute or long-standing. I find a client’s presenting symptoms and stuck patterns are outdated coping mechanisms, unconsciously and naturally developed as a source of survival.
Additionally, I find Western Medicine’s approach to emotional, mental, and physical health fragmented. I believe the brain, body, heart, and spirit are intimately connected. As such, I believe people find freedom from the distressing symptoms that bring them to counseling as all aspects of personhood are considered.
I assume people are resilient & have a tremendous ability to address their life situations. I am interested in learning your story. I want to empower you to trust yourself and recognize your worth and value. I seek to provide a safe environment to facilitate growth, foster change & restore hope.
