Hello, asking for help is difficult and I want to acknowledge your courage in reaching out. My name is Kim Shippey. I am a licensed clinical social worker(LCSW) and have a wide breadth of experience in treating a diverse population. My focus is the n individual therapy and using a variety of frameworks. I incorporate mindfulness, and trauma-informed care along with DBT, ACT, and CPT.
I work well with people struggling with PTSD, addiction, anxiety, life transitions, interpersonal issues, and grief. My style can be very direct yet compassionate and kind. This is your journey and your time. I encourage and support behavioral activation outside the confines of the therapy hour.
