My work as a therapist is rooted in my experience of helping families for 25 years as well as my personal understanding of the complex challenges involved in raising children in Fairfield County. My approach is relaxed, pragmatic and respectful of the strengths that all families possess even during times of struggle. I offer parents pragmatic advice designed to address problems such as anxiety, substance abuse, disordered eating, divorce and academic issues. I engage children and teens in a relationship that encourages them to talk about, play about and solve problems while developing the skills they need to feel secure, safe and successful.

In my work with adults, clients are engaged in a process to gain the insight necessary to bring about change. The knowledge gained in therapy is a foundational step toward improving relationships, reducing anxiety and tending to other issues that keep one from engaging in life with a sense of well being.

I help couples by specifically supporting their development of the interpersonal and emotional regulation skills necessary to increase empathy and facilitate warmth and communication. I have specialized training and expertise in the treatment of sexual addiction and in helping people who have discovered their partner's infidelity, pornography use or sexual addiction.
