I work in partnership with adults as they make positive strides in their lives working through issues of anxiety and fear, depression, anger, grief and loss, trauma and life transitions. I predominantly utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which allows me to work collaboratively with clients. CBT allows clients to take an active role in the therapeutic process moving from an unhelpful cycle of thoughts, feeling and behaviors to a more helpful cycle. CBT increases self-awareness and enhances understanding of one's self which leads to more self-control and more helpful thoughts and behaviors.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) specialize in working with adults using solution focused, strength based therapies. To compliment my clinical experience, I hold teaching licenses in early, elementary, middle and special education. I provide support to families regarding behavioral, developmental and educational issues.
My professional experience is in school and hospital settings and as an adjunct faculty staff member at George Mason University in the Social Work Department. I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the Academy of Certified Social Workers and certified to provide supervision to Social Workers seeking their clinical license.
