I welcome you to an initial consultation so we can see if I am the right fit for you as a therapist. I will meet you exactly where you are on any given day, listen carefully & actively engage. I will also compassionately challenge you to be accountable in living your core values and reaching your life goals. This may include feedback or suggestions of steps to take outside of the therapy hour. In short, I am kind & non-judgmental, but also direct & clear. Therapy is work, and it is well worth it. Above all, you will receive experienced, professional treatment & care in a safe, respectful environment. We can also laugh & be playful!
I've worked in mental health for 30 years, including clinical director of residential treatment centers. I am a trauma-informed supervisor, certified in interpersonal neurobiology, & an eating disorder specialist with extensive experience in adolescent & young adult development within family, society & culture. I am also a wilderness first responder.
I've lived/served in Zimbabwe, Africa, & am resolute regarding diversity & inclusion. As an intersectional feminist, I am cognizant of the ways in which social identities & systems of oppression affect one's well-being. Additionally, as a mother of three grown children, I understand the complexities of family systems both personally & professionally.
