Greetings! My name is Kiara and I hope to service you through Turning Point Counseling Services! In this field of work, I, both, have seen and believe in the power of sustained, hands-on engagement that brings about real improvement in people's lives. I primarily use two approaches in my sessions, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy).
I have experience with grief and bereavement, life transitions, anxiety, depression, adults, adolescents, and career transitions. I am an MSW graduate from the LSU School of Social Work 2023, where I also have experience with facilitating group therapy. The groups I led learned different ways to reframe their thoughts and behaviors in a positive ways.
In my sessions, my approach is completely client-centered, meaning that our sessions are about helping you grow and thrive in your life. Your needs will be top priority and you will be fully involved in your treatment. I'll listen carefully, provide guidance, and offer support as we work together to help you navigate life's ups and downs.
