None of us come out of childhood without some cuts and bruises. Sometimes physical, but more oftentimes emotional. For many, these emotional wounds are still tender, open, lightly dressed with a bandage, forgotten, or even neglected. So when these emotions get touched we find ourselves reacting in ways that aren’t in line with the kind of person we want to be.
In my practice, I use a blend of Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), tailored to each individual, couple, or family. Together, we’ll work on accepting and experiencing emotions in a safe and constructive way, rather than trying to ignore or bypass them.
Our work will include processing, identifying, and exploring emotions. Learning ways to respond to our thoughts and feelings in ways that allow us to act more in line with our values, which can in turn help you in living a richer and more meaningful life.
