I enjoy helping people solve problems. They happen to be very personal problems, but thats what counseling does, solves problems. Whether its the recent loss of a marriage, a death of a loved one, or concerns about the way you may be using substances. I have conversations with people so that we can see things a little more objectively and identify some paths forward. So, if your struggle to solve a problem involves excess worry and anxiety, mood, or a phase of life from college students to older adults - I might be able to help you feel better and look at some new options to solve that problem.
Whether its alcohol, anxiety, mood, or marital issues, all we try to do is solve problems. And for a lot of reasons, that gets easier when we talk with someone about it. Hopefully, its someone who is objective, someone that can hear what you say and what you mean. When that happens, we start to see possibilities.
Getting help for relational issues, work issues, or life issues should involve both a deeper understanding as well as practical things for today. My work with people is very practical and focused on feeling better or thinking better or living better today. I also talk with people about the patterns in our life and ways to impact those over time.
