Hello! My name is Kerry with Shortmeister Counseling! If you're here, it means there is something you are looking for help with. This means you are brave! It takes courage to be vulnerable & ask for help. It says how much you value yourself to make your own mental health a priority. Bravo! Mental health issues can be difficult to navigate. I see a counselor, too. (I know how to put gas in the tank & change the oil. But when the "check engine" light comes on, I need a mechanic!) I would be humbled to walk alongside you on your journey towards healing and self-empowerment!
I have been a licensed counselor since May '23. I worked at a nonprofit for over 2 years, providing services those who experienced trauma &/or abuse. I also specialize in grief, exploration of personal values, self-discovery, & -empowerment. I use pop culture to form rapport, make analogies we use as common references, & to assist the therapeutic process.
Counseling is tough, but is doesn't have to necessarily be unpleasant. It can be relieving, rewarding, build you up, & lead to the place you want to be. Please feel free to me via phone call/email.
