Every person's path is different and no one heals exactly the same. Starting to explore our own behaviors can be scary. Creating a safe space and trusting relationship where people can deeply explore what is preventing them from enjoying their lives to the fullest is the utmost importance for healing. I work primarily (not limited to) clients who are seeking to work on issues related to trauma, depression, anxiety, and addictive behaviors. I have experience working with college students, first responders, active duty/ veterans, medical professionals, pilots, nurses, counselors, and attorneys.
I traditionally utilize mindfulness-based approaches, experiential therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, 12 Step facilitation, reality therapy, ACT, brainspotting, and creative expression to assist clients in finding their path to recovery. I am a space holder for Y12SR, the integration of 12 steps into the yoga practice.
I am trained in Brainspotting Level 1, Resident in Counseling in Virginia, Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (since 2020). I am a 2023 Minority Addiction Fellow through the National Board of Certified Counselors which assisted in my goal of prioritizing underserved and historically marginalized people.
