Getting to know a child is where meaningful therapy begins. I believe understanding who a child is, including their personality, interests, strengths, challenges, communication, and unique way of experiencing the world, is essential to building a strong therapeutic relationship. I especially enjoy working with children and teens ages 2-14, who are neurodivergent or have diverse developmental needs, including those navigating anxiety, big emotions, social challenges, confidence, or transitions, and the process of figuring out who they are.
My approach is relational, eclectic, play-based and child-led. I adapt therapy to each child and what they need from session to session. A child may want to play, create, move, talk, sit quietly, or simply have space to be themselves. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches and activities to support each child's emotional, social, and developmental needs.
I want children to feel comfortable being themselves in therapy. They do not need to have the right words, participate in a certain way, or have everything figured out before they walk through the door. My goal is to make children feel understood, accepted, and connected, while parents feel heard and supported too.
