Hello there! My name is Kenzo "D" Cole, and I use They/Them pronouns. I have spent several years dedicated to learning, training, and providing quality mental health care to individuals in the Greater Washington and Baltimore area. I am specifically trained in providing trauma-informed, gender-affirming care for folks across the gender spectrum. I have a passion for working with BIPOC clients of trans, non-binary, genderqueer, and gender-fluid experience. As a member of these communities, I understand the necessity of culturally informed counselors who can also use the Self as a healing agent in the therapeutic space.
My areas of focus include crisis counseling, process & substance addiction counseling, trauma, anxiety, mood disorders, gender dysphoria, transitioning, relationships, and life transitions. I am also trained in and provide Letters of Support for Gender Affirming Surgery to patients seeking this next step in their journey toward authenticity.
In therapy, I use principles from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Relational Cultural Theory as vehicles for healing, increasing self-awareness, and positive change.
