Many people start therapy with me because of anxiety, depression, trauma, and/or relationship conflicts. Once we get started, more often than not, it becomes a self-growth journey! I believe you are the expert in your own life. I can simply serve as a guide, walking along next to you, to help you become who you want to be. You have what you need inside of you - you might just need a mirror to really see it. I believe in the power of validation. Everyone wants to be seen, heard, and understood. Clients are most successful when they are ready to put in the work, and when they know what they want to get out of the therapy process.
I feel it is important to tailor services to each client the best I can. However, some pieces you can always expect from me include: looking at how the past influences who you are today, identifying patterns of behavior, encouraging a deeper self-awareness, reflecting on experiences to learn and grow, and gaining ways to communicate effectively.
It is messy and hard to be human. Too often, we feel we need to hide our struggles because we don't want people to see we don't have it together. The real truth: no one has it together! The hardest step is reaching out - do that, and the rest will all come together.
