Building upon almost 20 years of pastoral counseling to couples and individuals, I pursued additional study culminating in a Master of Science in Social Work from the Kent School at the University of Louisville. Since receiving that degree, I have gained valuable experience as a therapist in community mental health programs, in private therapy with residents of local long term care facilities, and as an administrator at Franciscan Healthcare Center. My experience with the elderly and their families provides a unique perspective into the dynamics of family relationships.
I am a licensed psychologist whose clinical expertise includes over 30 years of experience working with individuals, couples and clergy. I have a master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Spalding University.
It can be difficult to find a therapist you feel you can trust. I strive to make every person feel heard, understood, and respected. You are the expert on yourself. It is my role to listen and help you find your own answers. We will work together to develop the therapeutic skills necessary to propel you forward. I also seek to focus on strengths and positive psychology including using humor, incorporating your spiritual beliefs if desired, encouraging your talents, and strengthening your support network. I believe that together we can discover a solution that will allow you to live a more fulfilling life. As people become more in touch with their thoughts and feelings, they often make decisions that make them feel more in control, less stressed and more satisfied with life.
Always been interested in how the mind works after my daughter passed from complications of a brain tumor, I continued my education in psychology with a BS and continued earning my MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Helping individuals and families is a passion for me. Everyone is different and what may work for one may not for another individual, it is important to understand clients, listen to their unique stories and reach out to them with a treatment they help develop that will work for them.

With our world increasingly changing every day, feelings of ‘uncertainty’ are constantly on the rise. Often, we can find it difficult to consistently meet the challenges and demands of our given lifestyle. But add to this that we are frequently taken to task by a ‘surprise unknown’ or two: Lost jobs. Lost relationships. Health issues. Even a lost childhood pulling at you. Maybe all of the above, and then some! Of course, each of us tries to meet these unknowns to the best of our ability. And at times even our absolute best efforts won’t get us back on course.
