My name is Kentrell Washington and I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). I specialize in working with marginalized populations as well as men. The folks that I focus on in my practice are people of color as well as LGBTQ+ people. The people I work with may be dealing with anxiety, relationship issues, identity issues or a history of trauma and they need skills to cope as well as a space to process and heal.
If we work together, I address these things with a person-centered approach that takes the individual within a system into account. Using a framework of intersectional, decolonial ideology to perceive the reality by which the client is impacted helps understand the systems and using psychosomatic, psychodynamic and other approaches helps treat you.
I do this because I work to be human centered in all facets of my life. I believe in grace and care when it comes to working with people. These things are a necessity in addressing issues in society, caused by harmful structures in place. This is my part that I have chosen in uplifting people.
