My clients want change and growth in their lives and/or their relationships, but they often don't know where to start. My clients find that within the experience of being truly heard, accepted, validated, and supported, that the door between where they are and the change they want begins to unlock and slowly open. My approach focuses on unlocking and discovering the strengths that we don't always realize we have, on building new coping skills, and on creating new understanding and connections.
Working with me in-person or through telehealth sessions means coming into a space where you are safe and supported. Therapy is a collaboration between us, and we will work together towards your goals. Not only will we work towards change and growth in our sessions, but towards change and growth that is sustainable and ongoing in your life and relationships.
As a gay man from the south, I know firsthand how important it is to work with a counselor who can provide the safety to explore one's self, identity, and relationships within a world that does not always feel accepting.
