I have been in practice for 40 years. I treat children with behavioral problems, children-teens-adults with depression, panic/anxiety attacks, bipolar disorder, phobias, family conflicts, coping skills, academic issues, Employee Assistance, relationship counseling. Therapeutic approaches are designed specifically for the individual. Play therapy is used with children 12 and under. I set goals to measure progress and modify treatment based on goal obtainment and how the person "feels." I also do Psych-education to help individuals better use coping skills outside the office.
I help clients learn new effective coping techniques which can be used now and in years to come. I help identify some causes of anxiety and suggest ways to deal with negative feelings. Through play therapy children learn to process and identify emotions. They learn emotional expression via modeling. Cogni Behavioral Therapy shows positive benefits in adults.
I provide a wholistic approach to individual issues. Insight and knowledge starts to develop in the sessions. My concern is how helpful it is in 'real life.' I help clients become more content and accepting of life situations. Clients learn more effective/efficient ways to cope with stress/anxiety.
