I have been in full-time private practice in Methuen and now North Andover since 2000. I have acquired an extensive amount of experience in a wide variety of settings including medical, legal, geriatric, substance abuse, inpatient and community mental health. Knowledge gained from this experience helps me a great deal in understanding and evaluating each client's individual situation. Early in my career I developed an interest in cognitive psychology and the connection between how people think and their behavior, emotions and relationships. This approach has subsequently evolved into what is now called cognitive-behavior therapy or CBT.
In my own application of this treatment philosophy, I ask questions designed to help me understand the client's unique perspective in order to set appropriate goals. My approach in doing this is supportive and non-confrontational. I believe that my style is thoughtful, proactive and very down-to-earth.
My office is comfortable, private and easily accessible. There is ample parking and I am very close to a local bus route. I am able to accept most insurance plans and I have a good understanding of mental health benefits.
