I work primarily with the masculine experience, and the suffering wrought by its imperative to perform in the face of worsening societal pressures. Traditional beliefs and institutions are in decline. Wages and currency are eroding. Technology undermines everything from employment to dating to parenting, as well as attention span and critical thought. Courts are actively hostile to fathers. Polished social media personalities become the unrealistic, and often fraudulent, standard by which a man is measured across mental, physical, social, and financial domains. The game is harder every year, and the prize increasingly meager.
