Hi, I'm Dr. Kelsey Shogren and I specialize in both body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs; like hair pulling and skin picking) and PTSD. My own experience with trichotillomania led me to become a psychologist, and I am passionate about helping others navigate hair pulling and skin picking
I also have extensive experience treating PTSD, including war trauma, combat trauma, moral injury, and sexual assault. I’ve worked with Veterans, first responders, and civilians, helping them process trauma, regain control, and move forward in their lives.
I provide structured treatments for PTSD and BFRBs. For PTSD, I use exposure-based and cognitive therapies to help you understand and shift core beliefs about safety, trust, and control. For BFRBs, we’ll work on awareness, habit reversal, and self-compassion. My approach is collaborative and focused on helping you develop skills to create lasting change
Living with PTSD, hair pulling, or skin picking can feel isolating, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. Together, we’ll build awareness, develop coping strategies, and create meaningful change. Therapy is a collaborative process, and my goal is to help you create the life you envision. If you're ready to take the next step, I’d love to work with you.
