About
Someone once told me that your brain is responsible for keeping you alive, not keeping you happy and you have to be intentional about bringing joy into your life. Taking the step to seek therapy may be one of those steps for you. As a therapist, I focus on the strengths of the folks that I work with, most people have more tools and wisdom than they are aware of. Talk therapy can help you discover more about yourself and help you to break patterns that may be causing distress. I also recognize the harmful systems that many have to navigate and the added weight of economic and racial injustice that effects our well-being.
In order for the therapeutic process to be beneficial, you need to have a trusting relationship with your therapist. As your therapist I serve as a guide to help you define what healing looks like for you. Each person is their own expert in their lived experience, I am here to hold the flashlight and provide a source of empathy and compassion.
I want to help people by offering a safe space. I recognize that I don't have the authority to call this a safe space for you, but I hope that together we can create that.
