Kelly Workman's Groups
DBT Skills Group
DBT skills groups are designed to provide comprehensive skills instruction across the four DBT skills modules: core mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. The goal of the group is to facilitate skills acquisition so that individuals can learn effective coping strategies, decrease harmful behaviors, and improve quality of life. The group is interactive, and the structure includes a mindfulness practice, homework review, skills instruction, and behavioral rehearsal. The full course of skills instruction is 24 weeks, and each group is 90 minutes. Group is provided exclusively through a secure telehealth platform.
Shame Resilience Group
The Shame Resilience Group is an 8-week group intended to help individuals understand their experience of shame, increase mindful experiencing of the emotion, and change their overall relationship to shame. The group combines psychoeducation, experiential reflections, in vivo exposure, and self-compassion exercises. This group may be helpful for folks who struggle with perfectionism, self-criticism, and genuine self-expression as well as those who feel that shame controls their lives. Each group is 75 minutes long and participants must commit to attending the full 8-week program. This group is provided exclusively through a secure telehealth platform.
Mindful Dating Group
The Mindful Dating Group (MDG) is an 8-week group designed to support those who are trying to bravely date. The group philosophy is informed by attachment theory, DBT, CBT, ACT, and mindfulness-based interventions. Topics covered include understanding your attachment patterns, managing dating anxiety, and exploring shame and vulnerability to help you better understand yourself in the dating context. MDG is an experiential and skills-based support group open to female identified and non-binary individuals. Each group is 75 minutes and participants must attend the full 8-week program. Group is provided exclusively through a secure telehealth platform.
