Thank you for reaching out for help. I am Kelly Walsh, LISW-S. I have been in practice for many years and started in the field in 1993! I practice CBT, DBT, TF-CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and a host of other approaches and we, together, will decide which one or ones are best for you. I am warm and engaging, I want my clients to feel as comfortable as possible during the entire therapy process. I am a trauma expert, but I am also conversant in the treatment and research of many other diagnoses. Some of these are ASD, Dissociative Disorders, Depression, Anxiety, Grief, Loss, and others.
My approach to therapy utilizes CBT, DBT, TF-CBT, Motivational Interviewing, reminiscence therapy, storytelling, art, music, I could go on. However, I want to keep all my skills sharp so that I can provide a wide range of treatment modalities that complement the client's mental wellness.
When I am practicing therapy, I know that I am where the universe needs me to be. I originally became trained as a therapist because I was frustrated about children being misdiagnosed with ADHD, when the real issue, which is not helped by standard ADHD treatments, was Trauma.
