Finding a therapist competent in and understanding of eating disorders, chronic illness, trauma, and spirituality/sexuality issues is a difficult task, and I am glad you are here! Our sessions will provide you with the opportunity to work through the underlying mental health-related issues that are keeping you stuck. We might work on trauma, anxiety, depression, and many other aspects of your life. Sessions might be individual or with family. Your individualized recovery is important and deserves the best care available to you, including referrals to and coordination with multidisciplinary providers to ensure holistic treatment.
I started Refuge Counseling as a way to increase access to specialty counseling for eating disorders, chronic illness, trauma, issues of spirituality and sexuality, and related disorders. I prioritize completing frequent training, research, and supervision related to these areas with well-respected professionals in their fields.
