I work with adults and teens to help them reach their goals in therapy, not by lecturing or providing all the "right" answers, but by listening. And by listening I don't mean just the physical act of hearing what you say, but really listening, to help myself understand where you are and the things you want to change. You will flourish best if your goal is your own (not your partner's, or parents', for example), you're willing to practice techniques between sessions, and you're ready to change.
While I do provide Christian counseling and am willing to use those concepts with those who find them helpful, I welcome anyone and do not proselytize. I practice primarily with CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) but am trained in Psychodynamic psychotherapy and DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy).
Reaching out is hard. We're encouraged in our society to focus on solving our own problems, not share our inmost feelings (especially to a stranger!), and often to let painful emotions fester in order not to share them. But I can provide a safe place for you to confront those feelings and help guide you to the change you want to see.
