About
I have been a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS) since 2001. I have a broad range of experience working with adults of all ages on mental health issues and substance use disorders. My expertise is working with PTSD, acute stress, and medical, developmental, and complex trauma. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Eclectic, EMDR, and Strength-Based modalities in my therapies. I believe that transformation is an active process and can be uncomfortable while learning new skills and strategies to better life experiences.
I am an active and empathetic listener. My communication style is warm, direct, and nonjudgmental. I'll bring along genuine compassion, skill, laughter, and the occasional bad joke while honoring the seriousness of your work and the courage to seek help. I will provide a safe and caring environment for you in this journey you seek towards wellness.
In our first session, I’ll get to know you better and discuss what brings you to counseling. In our work together, I may assign homework, suggest external resources to aid recovery, and guide you during our sessions. If you’re ready to embark on the journey towards healing and hope, or contemplating if you're ready for the trip, I encourage you to reach out.
