I received my master's and specialist's degrees from the University of Florida and have been practicing for over 10 years. I utilize trauma-based approaches to care, including modalities such as EMDR and DBT. I work with clients from a "wellness model" - which means understanding our symptoms and behaviors as natural responses to abnormal circumstances and life events. In our work, we can discover ways of being that may have been necessary in the past, but are no longer serving us in the present.
Difficult emotions can end up driving our lives, but when we address what we're feeling it allows us to change our behaviors, beliefs about ourselves, and our lives. We will work to gain insight into the underlying unmet needs and emotions so that you can experience the change that comes from understanding, awareness, and self-compassion.
It is my goal to empower you, to walk with you on the journey of self-discovery, and to help you feel the freedom of who you want to be. Growth exists right outside our comfort zones, I hope together we can explore what stepping out into new ways of being looks like for you.
