I have over 13 years of experience in providing mental health services to individuals, families, and groups. I have studied social work at both Georgia State University and the University of Georgia, graduating with my Masters in Social Work in 2014. I have experience working with a variety of evidence based practices and curriculums, including EMDR, CBT, DBT, Cognitive Behavior Interventions for Substance Abuse (CBI-SA), Motivational Interviewing, Seeking Safety, and Strengthening Families.
Additionally, my experience has provided me with many opportunities to increase my knowledge of how to best serve those around me. While much of my early work focused on the impact of substance abuse on individuals and their families, I also enjoy working with children of all ages and adults experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, grief, and trauma.
I utilize aspects of traditional talk therapy, solution focused therapy, CBT, DBT, and play-therapy in sessions, allowing for more control of the session environment and increased comfort for my clients. I found that expression through art and creativity gives clients increased insight into their thoughts and feelings and improvement in wellness.
