In my 20 years as a therapist, I have seen firsthand the amazing changes that can take place in people's lives through counseling. Whether it is learning how to cope with feelings of stress, depression or anxiety; process feelings of sadness or loss; or find ways to improve relationships or self-esteem, I firmly believe that creating positive change in life is possible. It is a privilege to work with individuals who are striving to become happier, healthier human beings, and it is my honor to provide a safe and supportive space where that can happen.
Through treatment that focuses on individual strengths, interpersonal relationships, and how our thoughts and feelings affect our behaviors, I work with clients to set realistic goals and make positive changes. Through work that honors each client's truth, I hope to help create a true feeling of peace in life.
My time at the Center for Eating Disorders and Psychotherapy (now called The Emily Program) has given me expertise in the treatment of eating disorders and body image issues. Secondly, my time in psychosocial oncology at The James Cancer Center has given me specific experience in dealing with cancer and the effects of it on both patients and their families.
