About
Therapy is a place of self-discovery where unique strengths can be uncovered and where self-compassion can be learned to support you during a difficult season. I offer a solid and steady presence in the midst of a chaotic time- a place for the lonely, afraid, overwhelmed and misunderstood to be heard. My approach to therapy is rooted in a systems and relational perspective, which means looking at life history and context to evaluate the impact current and past relationships have on functioning. I also use mindfulness skills and Brainspotting to aid in coping and increase functioning.
My interest in self-compassion permeates throughout all sessions. This approach states that we do not have to compare ourselves to one another, but we can recognize our common humanity and approach others and ourselves with forgiveness, grace and compassion.
I may be helpful if you struggle with social anxiety, poor self-esteem, setting healthy boundaries, poor coping skills, being assertive, and personal identity.
