Announcement icon I am trained and certified to provide telehealth services. I am currently offering both virtual and in-person services.
"Shame cannot survive empathy." Severe emotional trauma occurs if trauma is long-standing, repeated, or targets an individual’s self-worth. Self-compassion is the ability to forgo self-blame in order to forgive oneself for imperfections, as well as natural and honest reactions to traumatic events. Self-compassion has been shown to decrease mental health symptoms (e.g., anxiety, depression, shame) related to trauma, and increase positive psychological traits (happiness, joy). I utilize this approach alongside existential questions related to substance use, career choice, family issues, self-worth, and trauma.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida, and a Licensed Professional Counselor in New Mexico. I received my doctoral degree in Counselor Education from the University of Central Florida, a top ten nationally ranked program. My clinical experience was gained working with those navigating eating disorders and substance abuse, and trauma survivors.
I am trained to offer telehealth services, and have found this beneficial beyond the pandemic. Now more than ever, the importance of mental health is clear. I look forward to joining you on your journey of healing. Please visit www.TheDocHolladay.com to fill out a contact form, click "email me" or call me directly.
