As each person is unique, the best therapy is individualized. I am very flexible in meeting your needs through a variety of different approaches. I believe that people can change and that emotional suffering can be transformed. We will focus on gaining insights about the cause of your suffering, while also building new skills for managing the storms of life. Even though many problems seem overwhelming or impossible to change, by working together on seemingly small pieces we can bring about lasting changes that help you to have more of the life you want.
I have a great deal of experience working with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and trauma. I am also very passionate about using mindfulness meditation as a tool for personal transformation. My goal is to discover and alter the root of problems in a way the leads to long term improvement.
It is important that you feel understood and hopeful, and to have a sense of whether we can work well together within a few sessions. While careful listening is at the heart of my approach, I am also actively involved in giving suggestions and guidance when it is most helpful.
