My desire to positively impact the lives of others is the reason I became a counselor. I am passionate about helping individuals overcome the mental and emotional obstacles that are preventing them from living their best life. I believe that is best done by partnering with the client to design a specialized treatment plan to bring about the necessary changes and growth to achieve the client's goals. I also believe in providing an empathetic and encouraging environment to facilitate such changes and growth. I work with teenagers and adults in the areas of depression, stress, anxiety, self-harm, and self-esteem, to name a few areas.
I believe it is important to address the physical, mental, emotional, and social aspects of the client. In doing so I pull from a variety of therapeutic styles and techniques, based on the unique needs and make up of the client. I most commonly use cognitive behavioral therapy, rational emotive behavioral therapy, and solution-focused brief therapy.
You may be hesitant about sharing personal and intimate details about your life with a stranger, or just intimidated by the counseling process overall. That is perfectly understandable and normal. However, I want to reassure you that as a counselor my goal is to create an environment where you feel safe when you are at your most vulnerable.
