I approach therapy as a collaborative relationship between myself and my clients. My approach to therapy adheres to core principles of effective mental health care. The emphasis on collaboration is particularly valuable - it empowers clients as active participants in their healing journey rather than passive recipients of care. Real life issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and vocational uncertainty can be heavy loads if we must carry them alone. Counseling can help lighten the load as you share your burden with another person in a safe and caring environment. I use some humor when appropriate and always listen with empathy and non-judgement. Research shows about the critical importance of unconditional positive regard in building therapeutic rapport. I meet clients where they are in life.

I have seen the growth that can occur through counseling. I know that it is often challenging to reach out for help.
