Sarah subscribes to the person-centered theory and the belief that we all hold the inner ability to change when internally motivated. She believes it is her job as a counselor to be a resource for your journey and accomplishments, but it is your responsibility to commit to your treatment. She has a passion for helping people but believes that helping someone help themselves is so much more profound.Sarah is an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), which is where she found her passion for mental health as a potential career and truly hasn’t looked back since. Because of her experience as a public servant, she hopes to reduce the stigma
of mental health in those community members who are often exposed to vicarious trauma and hold space for those individuals affected. Sarah is a Graduate student from Lamar University, completing her degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in May 2022. Sarah earned her Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, with a minor in Psychology in 2019.
She is a certified EMT and is experienced in responding to emergency calls. Sarah is also a Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) and has experience working with autistic children and teenagers. Sarah is a member of the American Counseling Association and has been invited to join Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Society, the Society for Collegiate Leadership.
