You deserve help and care. Whether that is with me or a different provider, I hope you find the care you need. When we are in pain, it can be hard to know how to heal. It can be too easy to focus on the distance between where we are and where we want to be. This is especially true when we are navigating life transitions and there is less stability to provide an anchor. I believe that anchor can be the therapeutic relationship - a safe place to examine who you are and what you've experienced. My first priority will always be to understand and connect with you. That connection and shared understanding is what informs our plan.
Our plan can look many different ways depending on your needs. We might focus on being with emotions (Emotion focused therapy), we might examine how your past experiences in relationships influence how you feel now (Interpersonal Process Therapy), we might challenge thoughts (CBT), ingrate mindfulness (ACT), or examine your cultural identities (feminist).
Common clinic issues I address in therapy include anxiety, depression, and perfectionism. I am also passionate about working with expectant parents, new parents, and parents navigating fertility difficulties. I have completed advanced training in perinatal mental health. As athlete myself, I also enjoy working with perinatal athletes.
